American Express (Amex) and Cathay Pacific, a
Hong-Kong based airline, have joined forces to launch a co-branded
corporate card offering both companies and their employees Asia
Miles.

Companies will earn one Asia Mile for every
HK$12 ($1.5) on Cathay Pacific and Dragonair paid on the ‘American
Express Cathay Pacific Corporate Card’. Under the new agreement
employees will also be rewarded with the same benefits as their
employers.

Amex’s senior vice president Lisa Vehrenkamp
cites figures from the Amex/CFO Research Global Business and
Spending Monitor 2010 that reveals 70 percent of finance executives
from Hong Kong plan to maintain or increase business travel
spending.

“No other corporate card programme in Hong
Kong offers both company and individual cardmember rewards in the
form of Asia Miles, combined with the convenience of streamlining
the ways companies manage their business expenses,” said
Vehrenkamp.

“The ‘American Express Cathay Pacific
Corporate Card’  is specifically designed to save time and
money allowing company owners and directors more time to focus on
their core business.”

Amex and Cathay Pacific originally teamed-up
in 2008 to launch a co-branded credit card and its latest corporate
card offering is described as a “natural progression” of a strong
partnership between the two parties by Paul Loo, Cathay Pacific’s
loyalty programmes general manager.
