Carrefour China and China CITIC Bank have signed an agreement to launch the Carrefour CITIC credit card.

Carrefour China, a subsidiary of the multinational supermarket chain, will install 200 financial services counters with co-operation from China CITIC Bank from September 2013 to mid-2014.

At these counter, customers will be able to apply for the credit card, make inquiries, payments, and credit exchanges.

The new card will offer customers 5% cash back on purchases in Carrefour on Wednesdays and Saturdays on condition of a minimum spend of RMB99 ($16), preferential treatment once a month on Co-Branded Card Day.

They will also receive a gift for first-time use, member prices and services at Carrefour stores and an exclusive payment channel.

Visa will be the payment processor for the new co-branded card.
