ATM market consolidation has accelerated this
year. The latest story comes from France, where Crédit Agricole’s
local subsidiary Le Crédit Lyonnais (LCL) is to replace 90 Diebold
cash and coin deposit-enabled ATMs with Opteva ATMs.
The ATMS will be replaced with Opteva 328 and
324 models.

The bank said the 328 model delivers
efficiency and security in branches, while decreasing the total
cost of ownership by reducing cash and handling and cash management
costs.
The Opteva 324 model, which features a bulk
coin deposit sidecar, allows a convenient coin deposit option for
merchants and consumers.
The model will help financial institutions
meet the needs of the small and large business customers who rely
on coin transactions as major components of their revenues, LCL
said.
“We were among the first in France to offer
our shopkeeper and artisan customers automated banknote and coin
deposit terminals, installed in dedicated areas,” said Luc Julien,
head of the ATM and fiduciary department, LCL. “Diebold’s Opteva
328 recycling capability leads to further thoughts on future
transition to full recycling.”
