Giesecke & Devrient  (G&D) will
commence the use of on-card fingerprint comparison technology on
its smart cards.

The fingerprint technology will be provided by
Precise Biometrics, which provides such solutions.

The two companies have announced their
partnership will make use of Precise Biometrics’s Precise
Match-on-Card technology.

The fingerprint DNA of the card holder will be
saved on the chip of the card, which the two companies said
enhances security levels.

Precise Biometrics’ Precise Match-on-Card
technology is already deployed for national ID projects in Nigeria,
Portugal, Qatar, Bahrain, Thailand, and Venezuela as well as
employee IDs and for access control credentials in the public and
private sector.
