The prepaid Visa RushCard, co-founded by music mogul Russell Simmons, will debut two 60-second television commercials reflecting new branding this week.

Simmons, co-founder of record label Def Jam and founder of fashion label Phat Farm, will feature in the commercials as a cab driver and a doorman.

The new commercials, to be aired throughout the United States on cable networks for the rest of the year, follow the card’s 10 year anniversary.

Rob Rosenblatt, RushCard CEO, said: "The last 10 years have seen the prepaid industry evolve from a niche alternative to a mainstream financial option and we’re proud to have been a leader in this evolution."

Rosenblatt added: "We look forward to maintaining our leadership in the industry and supporting our customers for decades to come."

Cards with the new design will become available in the autumn.
