Ecuador’s Produbanco and Telefónica Movistar have joined together to launch a co-branded MasterCard credit card.

Spanish and Latin American network operator Telefónica already has a co-branded credit card with MasterCard, and Produbanco also has a pre-existing business relationship with the credit card company.

The new Produbanco Movistar card has several benefits for consumers, allowing them to accumulate points which can be redeemed for minutes or SMS. Cardholders will receive 500 welcome points on activation of the card. Customers will also receive promotional offers.

The card can be used worldwide and customers can also access an insurance package which is valid internationally.
