Apple’s mobile payment platform Apple Pay has launched in Mexico, marking the 61st country of its launch.

The mobile payment platform first went live in the US six years back.

In Mexico, customers of Citibanamex, Banorte, American Express, and Mastercard can avail the service.

These customers can add their credit or debit card by going to the Wallet app on their ‌iPhone‌. The card is also compatible with Apple Watch.

Currently, several stores in Mexico, including Domino’s, 7-Eleven, Domino’s, P. F. Chang’s will support Apple Pay.

A digital wallet, Apple Pay  enables one to make transactions by moving an iPhone over a contactless reader, eliminating the need to use a physical card or enter a Pin. It can be availed by those with an iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, or an Apple Watch linked to an iPhone 5 or above.
