American corporate cards issuer Brex has acquired three start-up companies to enhance security, e-commerce product offering, and infrastructure.

The financial details of the transactions have not been divulged.

The three San Francisco-based start-ups acquired by Brex are Neji, Compose Labs, and Landria.

Brex co-founder and co-CEO Henrique Dubugras said: “Brex is committed to helping growing businesses scale, especially in challenging environments.

“We look forward to bringing the talented team members at Neji, Compose Labs and Landria onto the Brex team.”

Founded by experts from Google, Apple and Microsoft, Neji specialises in developing the next generation networking and security technologies.

Brex director of engineering and trust Shruti Gupta said: “Protecting customer data and assets is mission-critical to us at Brex and so I am very excited to welcome Neji to the Trust team.”

Founded in 2016, Compose Labs is a community platform for the educators and e-learning companies. It powers next-generation video experiences, including the educational platform CommonLounge.

Brex hopes that this acquisition will enhance its e-commerce product, launched in February last year.

Brex director of engineering and data Miguel Rios-Berrios said: “Data engineering is critical to the future of our Ecommerce product as Brex seeks to ensure that we have 10x data advantages for all of the customers we underwrite”

Landria, which was founded in 2018, organises business SaaS tools into a single cohesive experience with unified search and navigation. It builds internal knowledge databases for companies.
