British Airways has rolled out its new corporate credit card for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in collaboration with American Express (AmEx).

Dubbed ‘British Airways American Express Accelerating Business Card’, the offering is available for a fee of £210 per annum.

Cardholders can earn 2,200 On Business Points when they spend £3,000 or more during the first three months of receiving the card.

Additionally, they can avail a further 3,000 points when they spend £20,000 within one year of issuing the card.

For every £1 spent using the card with British Airways, the cardholders can get 1.5 Avios as well as 1.5 On Business Points.

Avios can be redeemed on reward flights, upgrades, hotels, car rental and used for part payment.

Without paying any interest for a period of 56 days, the cardholders can use their card for business purposes.

British Airways On Business manager Ailis Gavan said: “This new card offers business owners across the UK the opportunity to collect On Business Points, as well as Avios.

“Businesses can spend these On Business Points on seats and upgrades through our On Business programme, which is free to join and can make business travel simpler with an online travel management tool.”

American Express said that complimentary supplementary cards will be issued for up to 99 staff to enable the SMEs to manage all the expenses under single business card account.

Additionally, the cardholders will be offered with travel insurance including cover for flight cancellations, delays as well as delayed luggage if they paid for service suing the card.
