Payment card production firm CPI Card Group has collaborated with credit union services provider Commercial Business Systems (CBS) to provide a streamlined approach to instant issuance of EMV-enabled cards.

Under the alliance, CPI will integrate its Card@Once solution with CBS’ CAMS-ii credit union accounting and management system.

Card@Once adopts software as a service (SaaS) delivery model and can print a card within minutes. CAMS-ii software is designed to eliminate the time-consuming, resource-heavy information management responsibilities for credit unions.

The combination of these platforms is expected to offer an end-to-end print and activation solution that will enable immediate response to customers for both new and replacement cards.

Credit unions will now be able to activate cards while printing to the Card@Once printer from their CAMS-ii user interface, thereby phasing out the requirement for dual entry.

CPI Card Group senior vice-president and general manager of prepaid and instant issuance Lane Dubin said: “The integration will allow branches to issue fully activated EMV chip cards in the span of a short visit. We’re thrilled to work with CBS to offer their customers a competitive solution that expedites the delivery of debit and credit cards.”

CBS vice-president Ken Hunt added: “Our primary focus has always been on alleviating the burdens of information management and ensuring that our credit union clients are positioned for success.

“Integrating our software with Card@Once is a natural fit, helping our customers benefit from leading-edge instant issuance technology as they focus on driving their growth.”
