Curve customer protection now covers claims within one working day on eligible purchases of up to £100,000.
The Curve customer protection policy covers all credit and debit card payments made via the Curve card. This gives cardholders an extra layer of protection for disputes with merchants. The Mastercard chargeback scheme, which previously covered Curve card payments, continues to apply to transactions of more than £100,000.
Under the new policy, claims can be made within 120-days. This applies when cardholders use their Curve card and goods or services are not received, defective or not as described.
It also covers eligible purchases when goods prove to be counterfeit and when a promised refund is not completed.
Curve customer protection: an extra layer of protection
Alison Moore, FinCrime Manager, Curve, says: “Ensuring our customers are protected when using their Curve card is a top priority. That is why we’ve had fraud protection in place from the outset. By introducing Curve Customer Protection, we’re adding an extra layer of protection for cardholders, when facing certain disputes with merchants.
“With the new Curve purchase protection policy, our customers can be reimbursed faster, offering them greater peace of mind.”
“This is complemented by the Mastercard chargeback scheme. That offers additional protection for transactions exceeding £100,000, however different timescales for reimbursement may apply.”
The Curve card, powered by the Curve app, allows customers to add their debit and credit cards into one Mastercard.
Since launching in Beta in February 2016, the Curve community has swelled to more than 300,000 sign-ups. Curve has 100,000 active users and is currently growing at the rate of 40% month-on-month.
New users download the Curve app, order their card, upload their existing debit and credit cards. They can then spend with any of their debit or credit cards with one Curve Mastercard.
The Curve card works anywhere in the world that accepts Mastercard – and features contactless, chip & pin and magstripe.
