Discover Global Network has joined forces with British software company Sage to boost the acceptance of its cards in the UK and Ireland.
Discover Global Network includes card companies and fund transfer networks such as Discover, PULSE, Diners Club International and affiliated networks.

As per the agreement, Diners Club International, Discover and affiliate cards acceptance will be added to Sage Pay payments portfolio.
This agreement will give Discover Global Network cardholders more payment options for making purchases at retail merchants and key hospitality throughout Ireland and UK.
The cardholders will also get more options to pay online or in-store, Discover Global Network said.
This will also enable merchants to widen their customer base by offering new payment options.

By GlobalDataDiscover noted that 48% of its cardholders changed their spend behavior or merchant if their payment type was not accepted while traveling abroad.
Discover senior vice president of global acceptance Amy Parsons said: “Discover Global Network cardholders have spent more over the past year at merchants in the United Kingdom and Ireland and we expect to see that continue.
“Working with companies such as Sage Pay allows us to continue increasing the number of places where our cardholders are able to shop and use their card.”
Sage executive vice president of payments and banking Seamus Smith said: “Adding Diners Club International, Discover and affiliate cards acceptance to our Sage Pay payments portfolio will give our customers greater choice and allow partners to expand their international reach.”
Discover Global Network has more than two million cash access locations and ATMs and 44 million merchant acceptance locations across the world.
