Emirates Islamic, the UAE-based banking arm of Emirates NBD, has launched a business banking debit card for small business (SME) clients.

The move is in line with the company’s efforts to lend support to the SMEs in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The debit cards will be offered for free to eligible SMEs, to help them gain access to cash and meet their cash flow requirements during the pandemic.

The business banking debit cards will be issued in collaboration with payments giant Visa and will come with warranty and purchase protection for lost, damaged and stolen goods.

In addition to the new debit cards, SMEs can access their business accounts through the bank’s ATM and cash deposit machine (CDM) network in the country.

Moreover, cardholders can also add this card to mobile wallets like Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay.
