US-based Republic Bank has added Android Pay support for its credit and debit cardholders that allow them to pay for anything using their Android devices.
Besides Google-owned Android Pay, the bank’s customers can carry out mobile payment transaction through Apple Pay as well as Samsung Pay, Republic Bank said in a statement.
With Android Pay, users can easily make purchases in a single touch using compatible Android devices. Android Pay can be used on any Android device running on version 4.4 (KitKat) or later equipped with an NFC chip.
Payments made with Android Pay use tokenisation technology, which generates a unique and temporary credit card for each transaction. While shopping it is the token that is provided to the store instead of real card number.
Apart from this, Android also eliminates the need for retailers to see customer names, card numbers or card security codes.
The bank said that the users will continue to receive all of the rewards and benefits provided by their Republic Bank MasterCard credit and debit cards, including Zero Liability Protection.
