UK-based multi-asset digital wallet Swipe has partnered with blockchain platform Elrond to integrate and add ERD cryptocurrency to its services.

The integration will enable Swipe’s 500,000 users to purchase and use ERD using a Visa debit card.

The users will be able to spend ERD via Swipe wallet and associated Visa debit cards at 50 million merchants directly.

ERD has also been made available via Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay through this integration.

The integration will allow Elrond to gain access to new users in 31 European countries, with Asia and North America soon to follow.

ERD can be spent as EUR, GBP, USD, and KRW anywhere Visa cards are accepted.

Elrond CEO Beniamin Mincu said: “Bringing our high throughput, low latency, and inexpensive transactional layer online is an important step for our launch. Convenience, ease of use, and utility for the ERD currency are another.”

Swipe, which has been recently acquired by Binance, allows users to buy, sell, convert, and spend over 30 cryptocurrencies on its platform.

Swipe’s wallet is associated with both virtual and physical Visa debit cards.

While making payments, the cryptocurrencies are automatically converted into fiat at merchant point-of-sales or online.

Swipe CEO Joselito Lizarondo said: “Elrond’s notable progress makes it seem like they have just recently appeared.

“We are excited to include them in our portfolio and be a part of their journey.”
