Visa is reportedly planning to build a crypto-focused team and has advertised for a full time technical product manager as a part of Visa Fintech group.

The product manager, to be appointed at the company’s Silicon Valley innovation and research hub in Plo Alto, is responsible for executing Visa’s product strategy within the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

The job description reads the manager to have significant knowledge in cryptocurrency eco-system including an understanding of the current retail payment solutions.

This hiring is part of Visa’s card scheme strategy for the cryptocurrency world.

The vacancy was advertised in smartrecruiters.com. The new recruit will report to the head of Crypto.

The product manager will also have to manage and evaluate cryptocurrency-related new opportunities.

Visa has indirectly entered cryto and blockchain area by recently helping Ripple’s partner InstaRem under its fast-track programme.  Around a month ago, Visa announced expansion of its Fintech fast-track programme into the markets of Central and Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East, reported Coingape.com.

This programme is intended to enable fintechs to link to its payment network in a short span of time.
